Re: [Harp-L] Bassman reissue

Have you done anything to your Blues Jr.? Swap the 12AX7 for 12AU7, or
anything else? I tried one at Guitar Center and I had feedback problems. I
have 2 JT-30s (20ft cords), one hotter than the other and I couldn't get the
amp to 7 before feeding back with either mic.

I'm still looking for a dirty little 5-10 watter for Blues Harp.

I'm curious about the Epi Valve Jr. A local shop has the combo in boxes for
$119. I tried one but it had a noticable hum at idle. Must be the earlier
version before they went to DC filament supply. I'm not really keen on
modding the thing right out of the box but I might just do it for that
price. Including some tone stack mods and a standby switch.

I've got a mid-60s Super Reverb I use with guitar and I can always plug a
JT-30 into one channel if I need more loudness on Harp than a 5-watter can
handle, or I can always put a SM-58 on a small stand in front of the amp and
run an XLR to the sound board. I sometimes am asked to gig just on harp and
carrying 4 tens around is a pain. The small amp mic'd to the board is
actually the ideal harp rig for me.

PEACE
