[Harp-L] re: dress like a musician

If you want to keep your audience, knowing how to play is also not the
most important part, or all that is needed.
Showmanship is just as important. There's different brands--like the
Stones vs the Grateful Dead vs Elton John, but successful musicians
know what the audience wants from them and they deliver. This covers
dress, demeanor, stage antics, the whole thing. You think Miles didn't
know about showmanship? You think Mozart didn't know showmanship? You
want to put your music out in front of an audience you either find out
what the audience wants, or find an audience that wants what you put
out.
You have to have fun, be true to your music and still keep the band
happy, the owner happy, the audience happy, and the family happy. And
you have to learn how to do it, and practice it, just like scales.
