Interesting that we are on the subject of entertainment.   The band  
I'm in is entering the IBC blues competition
to play in Memphis.  I read the guidelines this evening. Scoring  
criteria is 1. blues content, 2. talent, 3. originality and 4. stage  
presence.

The stage presence guidelines state that  playing well isn't enough,   
you have to put on a show. This category rates how " sellable" the  
band may be.

So  being a talented musician isn't enough even in the blues world.  
It's all about song and dance and entertained those that hear with  
their eyes.
Since our bandleader is 6'10 and weights 400lbs maybe we should have  
him give the judges a lap dance.:)
