Re: [Harp-L] Musselwhite overblowing or alternate harptuning?

Hi folks... I was emailing Charlie just last night on other stuff, so I felt I'd pass on word of this discussion going on here. He has had ears to Harp-L's goings-on in the past, and I'm sure he tuned in a bit if he could, so you may just be right, Mox.

Subject: [Harp-L] Musselwhite overblowing or alternate harptuning?

Charlie Musselwhite has been familiar with the basic techniques of
overblowing since the mid eighties. If you don't believe that ask, Ludo he was listning in to the conversation.

Among other comments about Ludo's questions, I asked him, "However, would you have any insight to give regarding his reported impressions? Have you begun using overbends... or maybe you already have more than we know? Ludo got me curious now, too. ;)

He answered that he can play the overblow, but for some reason just never thinks of it when he's playing live. But, when playing at home or in a hotel room, he might "consciously make" himself "incorporate" the 6-hole overblow for fun.

He didn't say, however, whether he did or not play that overblow you heard, Ludo, on Blues for Yesterday. Perhaps he'll drop by and let us know for sure. :)

Cheers!
Bobbie
