Just watched Spellbound with my 8 year old. Who played that harp?
Robert, in July 2003 I posted the following to Harp-L:
"I've been advised by Daniel Hulsizer, the composer for the music for
the
documentary "Spellbound," that the harmonica on the score was played by
Dave McKelvy (who I believe plays with Harp-L's own Danny Wilson in the
Dave McKelvy Trio) and Hulsizer himself (the less melodic stuff).
The movie -- which is about the contestants in a national spelling bee
- -- is surprisingly gripping and very enjoyable, and the harmonica adds
a lot to the score. Harp-L members who haven't seen it should add it to
their watch list."
