The five most influential LPs/CDs has been one of the most responded to threads on harp-l. Two albums have been mentioned most often: Paul Butterfield Blues Band (1st album) and A Love Supreme (John Coltrane). Several votes were also cast to classical and rock albums. Also bear in mind that eg Little Walter was listed under several album titles which, as an artist, would possibly have ranked him top of the list.
Butter's LP is a classic. Trane is fine but not my cup of tea.
