I'm with Iceman. My favorite Wilson sides are on the Jimmy Rogers "Ludella" recording. Rod Piazza did a similar session with Jimmy much earlier and it's fun to compare the two harpists; sound-wise and idea-wise.
I would argue that Jimmy and his music brought out the best in every one of his harp players. That stuff is just fun to play! I always thought Little Walter's strongest stuff was with Jimmy. And of course, Big Walter's solo on "Walkin" by Myself" is considered a classic that many players learn note for note. Furthermore, I can think of three players who cut their teeth with Jimmy Rogers and wound up turning into monster players: the late Little Joe Berson, Billy Lupkin, and Steve Guyger. God bless him; Jimmy ran quite a finishing school for blues harpists!
