[Harp-L] overblows
Tinus asked the question: on how low a harp can people confidently
overblow hole 1? Unless I missed something, the only reply came from
Chris M., who could probably overblow a drainage culvert. Certain
people like him, Dennis Gruenling, and Carlos del Junco have developed
enormous strength and can bend and overblow super-low harps.
I can sustain a hole one overblow on a low Eb harp. Maybe on a low D
harp, but I can't find mine right now. Not on a low C harp, though.
But being able to sustain the hole one overblow is not the test for me.
A certain degree of fluidity over the range of the instrument is. The
lowest harp I am comfortable performing with is a G.
