Harmonica maestro CARLOS DEL JUNCO and his stellar band - The Blues Mongrels
are confirmed for one night only, at Fitzgerald's on Saturday March 29,
2006. The Blues Mongrels are Shawn Kellerman on guitars, Henry Heillig on
bass, and Jordan John on drums.

As a leading pioneer of the 10-hole diatonic harmonica, this world champion
harmonica virtuoso carves an original niche that defies categorization.  del
Junco expands the range of musical credibility for what is still considered
by many, a fringe folk instrument.

In concert, Carlos transcends the boundaries of blues and jazz and anything
in between.  His command of the instrument is absolute - he was one of
Howard Levy's students in the early nineties. An eclectic palette of musical
styles cover a wide spectrum rooted in the blues, moving into Latin,
Tex-Mex, country, New Orleans funk, swing, early jazz, to the occasional
African, hip hop and ska flavoured rhythms.  Carlos fuses his respect for
tradition with an innovative, adventurous and modern approach, playing with
all the nuances and subtleties of a classical violinist to the edgier sounds
of a blues rocker.

Carlos is touring in support of the already critically acclaimed brand new
cd, Blues Mongrel.  This latest offering matches Carlos' musical dexterity
to a stellar lineup of world-class talent including the always amazing Kevin
Breit (Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson) on guitars.

Carlos started touring Canada in 1996, and is a welcome addition to the
concert circuit at home and abroad, including numerous concerts in Europe
and the USA.  Carlos has just returned from the Trossingen Blues Factory
Festival in Germany and recently showcased for the Southern Arts Federation
in Charlotte, North Carolina.  One of  the highlights recently was a
standing ovation while opening for Ray Charles at The Hummingbird Centre for
the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival.
