Something I hit pretty regularly, is the player will complain a reed isn't
playing - and it has indeed caught against the side of the reed slot -
however, almost every time a coconut, the reed is fatigued - the base of
the reed hasn't moved, but the fatigue has allowed the reed to twist in the
slot causing it to catch on the side of the reed slot.  
  In some cases it is simply a twisted reed, but many times, after
correcting the reed is really flat, and after giving it a thorough testing
predictably snaps.
