Re: Fwd: [Harp-L] Help! Special Harmonica Project

Winslow -

I've looked into the models you mentioned - thing is this harmonica is only
3/4 of an inch long. The Lee Oskar OSKAMONICA might be a possibility - I
just need to find out how big it is. Thank you for the tips - I really
appreciate your time.

Best,

Reed

What you are describing sounds very much like a Hohner Little Lady -
a four-hole miniature harmonica with a one-octave range.

Several manufacturers make harmonicas like this, including Hohner
(Little Lady), Suzuki (Metal Major Mini), Lee Oskar (Oskamonica),
Huang and Hering.

You could use the reedplates from any of these - this is what a
jeweler cannot make - and have the jeweler make the comb - the part
in the middle between the reedplates, and the engraved covers, and
assemble the whole thing.

Help!!!!

I am working on a special project that requires me to re-create a
tiny,
vintage 14K gold harmonica - 2 cm in length. Also, like my sample,
the
reproduction must work. And that's my problem. I've talked to a
number of
jewelers - anyone one of them can make the harmonica but they can't
make a
working one. I will need to have about 12 of these suckers made.
Cost is
not an issue. My only requirement is that they be identical to the
original (and this includes some engraving on the top and bottom)
and that
they work. I also need to find someone who can work from the original
vintage sample with care because it's value to the owner (who happens
to be
my boss) is priceless. It needs to be in the hands of someone who
respects
it. I was hoping that someone could help me.

Thanks for ANY help!!!

Reed
