fjm, your statement below use to be the case, my Twin would feed back no
matter what mic I used.
"
A 70's Twin Reverb is a great amp. I'm surprised you could make it work
with the Shaker though, they feed back pretty easily."

Someone on the list did a study and discovered that a mic delivered a
considerable amount of voltage above humm buckers. By using the Para DI I
was able to run my Twin hotter for tone and adjust my input signal without
effecting my amp setting. Don't get me wrong I can still feed back I'm just
able to get the tone I was looking for, before the amp starts to feed back.
This is probably one of the reasons Chris Michalek gets a great sound from
his Bassman, the EQ he uses has separate gain and vol control, therefore he
controls the signal before the amp input.
The Para DI is a little more than just an EQ, it has sweepable mid
features as well as a knotch filter built in. a effect loop is there if you
need it as well. I tried it straight through the PA once but the sound tech
couldn't handle it.
Maybe Ron needs to see if LR Baggs has infringed on his Harp Commander pat.
rights, as both units are very similar.
