Re: [Harp-L] Pat Ramsey

Reach Mann et al:

It occurs to me that there are numerous musicians that are in need as a result of this disaster. I plan to contribute some cash to the Ramseys because I know of Pat and what a great artist and person he is.

I also plan to go to my local blues club, the Illinois Central Blues Club in Springfield Illinois, and encourage them to give $1000 to the Musicmaker Foundation. If you visit their website at www.musicmaker.org, you will find they have set up a fund for musicians affected by the disaster. Specifically, they want to use their dollars to get food and clothing to people in areas where gigs will be sparse for a while, but they also want to replace lost equipment and help the musician community to get back on its feet.

Along with the Red Cross (another place my dollars will go), there is any number of charities that will be helping out down there. As a musician that has lived in New Orleans myself, I have contributed to MusicMaker over the years and have seen the results of their success. I would also be interested in purchasing a copy of Reach Mann's footage when it is available. Under the circumstance, I think $15 may be too good of a deal.

Thanks to everyone that is taking an initiative in this time of need. I am really proud to be associated with SPAH and its members.
