RE: [Harp-L] (no subject)
Ben,
That was actually the very first "real" song that I learned to play on harp.
I learned it by ear, just listening to it over and over again, in my first
week of playing, and although you could easily find tabs online, I'd
recommend trying to learn it by ear. It takes longer, so you need some
patience, but it'll probably help you more to work it out yourself (although
I don't really have much experience with teaching anyone besides myself, so
maybe someone will correct me on this). Pretty soon, the songs you'll be
trying to learn won't have any tabs available, so you'll probably be
learning almost everything by ear in the near future. It's good practice,
and I think it probably helps with soloing later on too. If you really want
to use tabs, check out this site:
http://www.harmonicaclub.com/members/content/third_archive/tabs/Mariko1.htm.
Just remember that although the tabs there are single notes, you'll have to
listen to the recording to get the chords that he's actually playing.
Keep harpin'
Jim

Hello Harp-l
I would really love to be able to play the harmonica solo in "pianoman" by
billy joel
but I do not have enough experience to work the solo out
so if you guys could help me out I would really appreciate it.
Benjamin
Thanks
