RE: [Harp-L] posting and the very steep learning curve of subtext
Hi,
I wanted to thank everyone for their help earlier this year with the input
they had on open jams. I think that in at least small ways, the several
harmonica players on Harp-l have through subtle and not so subtle influence
helped the weekly gig in harrisburg get back to it's good time feel.
So, thank you. Also, Bill Hines is embarking on a project, ala Martin
Scorsesse, to document and archive some of the unique blues culture of
Central Pennsylvania. Hopefully, we'll have a DVD and or CD available whose
proceeds will be 100% charitable in the next year which will feature at
least half a dozen harmonica talents like the younger Nick from
France(should he visit again), Bill Hines, Daine Paul Russell, Nate Myers,
and Michael Easton.
We also have a good number of visiting acts, like Nico, who usually include
Harp'l ers and will try to capture the best of everything. My camcorder was
delivered w/tripod today so I guess you could say we are getting started
today.
Thanks again,
John Merx
