[Harp-L] re Repair notes

Tommy,
Not sure of details on your 9 and 10 blow reeds, especially whether this happens quickly or slowly once you start on a new harp but:
If they don't play at all, the reed gap is either to tight or the reed is stuck in the plate(think pocket lint vs crud). Either way, you need to remove the covers, inspect and clean the reeds, and I'd try to open the gap.(Search the harp-l archives or tenhole site for details) Remember that if you open up the blow reed gap you need to open the draw reed gaps too so they play in balance . If you play hard, you'll do better with wider than factory set reed gaps on the 9 and 10 blow.
Hope this helps!
