Neil Leslie Diamond

"Neil Leslie Diamond is born in Brooklyn, New York at the Isreal Zion
Hospital, to Akeeba and Rose Diamond."

So it would appear that the famous singer-songwriter Neil Diamond is
no relation to the famous harmonica plyer Leo Diamond.

(Trying to do a search on Leo Diamond bography is complicated by the
existence of a well-known composer named David Diamond who happens to
be David *Leo Diamond, and from a type of gem known as a Leo Diamond.)

Hey Winslow, that's why I call you the 'Wizard'. I had the same difficulty researching it. I would say that YOUR source is THE difinitive word. I really DO appreciate this as I have thought they were related for most of my life. My sister Suzy went to school with some Diamonds in Brooklyn (near Bensonhurst). Since I had lived in Brooklyn, then Manhattan, then Staten Island, even I didn't remember. I should have known that if anyone could find the answer, it would be you.

It's just like the Minevitch thing, There are conflicting stories as to how he died. One says heart attack, another says he was thrown down a flight of stairs by his new bride's former lover and got a broken neck.

Then there is Les Thompson. Some interviewers say he plays different keyed tunes on harmonicas tuned to THOSE keys (like McCoy) while others say he plays a 64 in ALL keys. Some say he reads music and HE says he doesn't read. The there's all the blues legends and how THEY died.

I tell ya, it's confusing. Again, thanks, I feel much better now.
