Leo Diamond (father of Neil) was THE greatest smo-joe

Hey Bullfrog
Leo was a couple years younger than my dad. My dad worked at the U.N. and we lived at 203 E. 93rd. st. Manhattan (mid-east side/renovated brownstones). The Diamonds lived a couple blocks away. It was the late 40s and I wasn't even in kindergarten yet. I think Neil was 1 or 2 years older than I.
It was Leo's composition "Off Shore" and hearing Alan Schackner and the Harmonica Rascals at the Roxy theater that convinced me to play harmonica.
Leo was a forerunner of using special effects and avant garde recording trickery, (much like Les Paul) and most of his material was considered 'Cosmic-Fantasy'.
