Re: [Harp-L] cusom diatonic owners

Hey Warren,

I've gone both routes with my skimpy collection of
customs. Obviously the pro does a better job, but
sometimes time/money get in the way.

I prefer to send back customs to have reeds
replaced when they've gone totally flat, but I have
no problem tweaking them up some if they're not too
far gone. Slight re-tuning isn't very hard. I'll
also adjust gaps if they've strayed from where the
pro had them.

I also have a custom that I replaced a reed on all
by my lonesome (easier than I thought) using a Bill
Romel reed replacement kit and a reed from an old
parts-harp Marine Band in the same key. I first
practiced replacing reeds on an old beater harp
first to get the technique figured out. It worked
great.
