I play both, and general refer to them as "harp" and "chro" respectively.

I've never been to a harmonica convention, or been around many harmonica 
players. This is the first time I've seen this ugly beast raise it's head 
from the muck. What's up with diatonic vs chromatic? How about diatonic and 
chromatic?
