[Harp-L] Douglas Tate in memoriam
My condolence to Doug´s family.
Yes, it´s impressive to see the shock wave going over harp-L.
But Roger Trobridge simultanously wrote something comforting:
< Douglas passed away peacefully in his sleep >
I think we all wish to end our limited earth path that way.
Roger continued:
< He fought his final illness with a quiet dignity and bravery
< - and of course, humour >
Besides our test play of "summertime" at SPAH 97 just to hear who´s
customed chrom is louder I will not forget my chatting with Doug about
humour on harp-L. Siegfried, he warned me, our both Anglo-Saxon humour
needs an American wrapping, otherwise the "Yanks" could break out in
tears - but not for laughing.
So, everybody has his very personal memories of this real English
gentleman. Doug, the Lord had been merciful to you. R.I.P.
See you some time later!
