[Harp-L] RE: Douglas Tate

Douglas Tate passing on. Even though I hardly new him, only met him once. I will miss him. My brief encounter with Doug will be with me forever. When Doug moved to Tallahassee, several years ago (6 or so). I lived near Tampa. We communicated via email once in a while. Me a begginer, extremely impressed with the harmonica and trying to learn it. At about this time I mentioned that I was going to a BMW Motorcycle Rally about 20 miles north of Tallahassee. He invited me to stop in for tea. I did. We chatted, he showed me some of his harmonica's, played a little. And I went on. And never forgot it. I can still barely play, but am still extremely impressed with the harmonica and with all you harmonica players. Doug is one of the few people I have met once and will remember forever.
