The digital delay isn't so great for tone thickening. There are
useful applications for it ie; ambient echos in the slow song.
If you're looking a for a decent delay the Line 6 Echo Park is very
good. It has a tape delay effect, analouge delay effect and dig
delay. The analogue delays sound very close to my DM-2 which is
considered by many to be the holy grail of delay pedals.
I like the echo park unit and have been using it with the tape delay
effect for the past 6 weeks or so. I got mine on ebay for $68.
