RE: [Harp-L] Bendometer Software
It still works for me. The author admittedly doesn't pay as much
attention to it any more. I wish he'd contribute it to open source or
allow me to take control of it to enhance it. He is pretty slow to
respond to email, he probably just hasn't entered your info in his
database yet. He has several email addresses on his websites, send mail
to all of them. The program requires this, and you *must* have a
connection to the internet for it to work.
What happens is that when you start bendometer, it connects to the
internet, and says "Checking for updates" but what it really is doing is
checking whether you paid :-) So make sure you have a connection when
you run it (if you are running it from your desktop and not directly
from his website). It's also possible that if you have a desktop
firewall like ZoneAlarm or the one that is built into windows now, that
it is blocking bendometer.
As an alternative, someone here was working on a bendometer type program
as well. I really like bendometer though, showing the harp layout in
whatever key you choose is quite handy.

Subject: [Harp-L] Bendometer Software
Hi All
Does anyone know whats happening/happened to the Bendometer
harmonica software? I paid my donation a bit over a week ago and still
don't have access to the program. I have emailed the author of the
program and posted a message on the Bendometer support forum but have
had no reply from either. Has Bendometer been abandoned? Has anyone else
had trouble like this with bendometer?
