I have several Astatic crystal elements circa 1930's. I would like to determine whether they are "live" or rot without having to solder them to the mic.  Is there any other method of testing?  Also, I have two Shure Controlled Magnetic "transducer" elements. Are these the same as the controlled "reluctance" or the controlled magnetic?
