[Harp-L] suspicious e-mails

Yes it's true. We're amidst a new wave of viruses. None of it has
anything much to do with harp-l. Someone from this list is indeed
infected because the owner's box has been inundated with 76k attached file
mails. The suggested author doesn't have anything to do with the virus.
They were just in someone's address book who got infected. Please do be
aware that owner-harp-l will never send anything with an attachement so if
you receive anything that appears to originate from either of the harp-l
domains and it has an attached file delete it unopened. An exception being
the empty attachmnets that get generated by Mailman when it strips out an
attached file prior to sending it. Since there's nothing in the
attachment there's no reason to open it and you'll still be able to view
the actual message anyhow. Please do employ an anti virus strategy of
some sort, OS X, Linux, any other mail program besides Outlook or an up to
date anti virus program. Simple common sense also works. Harp-l the list
won't ever send you a virus because we only send plain text or multi part
and we don't allow attachments or .exe files in our outgoing mail.
