Re: [Harp-L] Re: Audix FireBall Mic- not just for clean players

HI MIKE

Using an astatic with the chrom can be difficult. It is too big and the sound is muddy

No wonder you have been having problems.

The Fireball will solve your problems. It is a small diameter mike and fits comfortably with small hands and the chromatic.

Plus it is very light weight, especially compared to the awkward bulk of the Astatic you have been using.

In fact, in some ways, you can call it an invisible microphone because you can't even tell that you are holding it because it is so naturally integrated into your hands and chromatic. It is ergometrically correct, created for harmonica players by a company known for their world class microphones.

Plus the sound of fireball will reveal all the sweet overtones that the Astatic has been covering up.

Of course, you can overdrive the preamp and still get the distortion that you may be looking for as well.

I hope this helps,

Hi Randy. I am using my chromatic more and more, in my band. I have small
hands, and wondered how easy it is to hold, with the chrom. I use an
Astatic Brown Biscuit with my amp, and find it a little awkward with the
chrom. I generaly have been playing the chrom. through my vocal '58, which
is on a stand. I know the Fireball is three inches in length, but couldn't
find out how deep or the diameter of the ball. Thanks. Bullfrog
