he has to pull the silver label tape off, then he can see two holes, one  on 
12 o'clock, the other one on 6 o'clock.  On the inner side of the plastic 
head is a round metal clip, ending in the holes (thin metal strips). Now 
(while holding the mic with his third hand) he has to press the ends of the 
clip deeper into the holes, then he can carefully lift off the black plastic 
cover.
