I'm with you, Gorky.  I've been intrigued by Jeffrey Carp ever since I
heard "All Aboard" on that Fathers and Sons" album not long after it
came out (it was one of my first blues albums--on vinyl).  IMO, Carp
outplayed Butter' on that tune, which to me is noteworthy.  His
chromatic work was all over the place, and Butter's playing seemed sort
of subdued by bany comparison.  Like I said, noteworthy.

But, I've been able to find very little about Jeff Carp.  He is
mentioned as playing on other's recordings, but I find very little about
the man himself.  Where he came from, who he learned from, who he played
with before achieving a name that Muddy would know, let alone invite to
play on an album, these questions add up to a bit of a mystery.  I do
know that he tragically died in a drowning accident while still a young
man.  But there must be more...
