I have a couple of 40 watt Fender Blues Deluxe 1 x 12" speaker tweed amps, I 
find them just fine for harmonica. These days they are my first choice for 
amplification. I tend to use input 2 with a "Crystal Balls" JT-30 mic... My amps 
are "stock" with no mods at all...
If I need more volume, I just link the two together, or mic one amp through 
the pa (IF the sound man is good!)
The tone is just fine, as far as I am concerned, with all the volume I might 
need.
