Harmonica Knights is a series of shows that started in 2000.
Created and Hosted by Mark Bird Stafford http://www.markbirdstafford.com.
The show features a line up of hand picked players that can deliver a
wide variety of blues feels with a feeling. The show has travelled
across the province into the Montreal Jazz Festival in 2004 as well as
several other major main stage festivals across Ontario for the past
several years. The real great feature has been the inclusion of dozens
of Canadian and even a few US heavy hitters as Harp Guests. In Ottawa
last weekend, Harmonica Knights ripped it up at Tucson's with Southside
Steve Marriner, and Dean Dupuis as special guests. Healey's is an "A"
room with a very comfortable atmosphere and sure to be another great
sounding night...or should we say "Knight".
Well here we go with another Harmonica Knights revue featuring two
great Harmonica Players/Singers as guests for the show.
The show opens up with Mark Stafford "blowing to get the band warmed up"
offering up a good slice of Swing Harp, and Chicago Blues to get the
joint rockin. Then on come the guests.
http://www.thesidemen.com Each guest will offer a different taste
of the Blues. Maple Blues Award nominee, Paul Reddick will be kicking in
some of his high energy original blues that took him across the US and
had him nominated for the US W. C. Handy Blues Awards. Paul is an
awesome singer and a super harmonica player that leans on the
outstanding rhythmic songs that he has written. Look out for a great
show from Paul with this outstanding line up of musicians.
http://www.chuckjackson.com Chuck Jackson (Downchild Blues Band) is
the busiest showman in town, and its no wonder. Downchild's front man
and vocalist seems to never run out of great tunes to pull out of the
Blues Suitcase. 2002 recipient of the "Blues With A Feeling Award" and
several Maple Blues Awards to his credit, gives Chuck the fuel to "step
right up to the plate and deliver". Here's a guy who fronts Canada's
most famous blues band, but continues to entertain at all the local and
international venues throughout Canada. Chuck has killer tone on the
harp, and we'll be looking for some of that.
Sets starts at 10pm, and midnight. With a special "Three Harp Jam"
taking place at the end of each set.
Thank You
Mark Stafford
