Friends,
Mr. G and the Mystery Band will be making a rare public appearance on
St. Patrick's Day - March 17 - at Bill's Blues Bar in Evanston IL. The
"mysterious" players are all blue-to-the-bone old skoolers. Twist Turner on drums -
well known in Chicago and a man who is a legend and has played with the
legends (Junior Wells, Jimmy Reed, Sunnyland Slim, Hubert Sumlin, etc.); Greg
McDaniel on bass - son of the mighty Floyd McDaniel, and a mainstay of
the Chicago blues community (played with Erwin Helfer, Buddy Guy, Eddy
Clearwater, Son Seals, Robert Jr. Lockwood and others); Anthony Palmer
on guitar - Chicago's tastiest blues guitar player, supporter of Matthew
Skollar, Byther Smith, Katherine Davis, Otis Rush, Joanna Connor and a
host of others; Brian James on keyboards (currently playing with Lonnie
Brooks; has also worked with Wayne Baker Brooks and many other top blues
artists), and Mr. G on harmonica and vocals. We may have some mystery guests,
too.
Come on out - 1029 Davis Street, Evanston IL, 847-424-9800, www.billsbluesbar.com. Have a Guinness and enjoy some good-timemusic on St. Paddy's day.
Mr. G
