[Harp-L] Sound of Hohner (was Hering harp comment): could be Hohner Apology
That's why, to my opinion, the Marine Band is still THE reference among harmonicas and custom harp.
Though I am a Seydel Favorit/Weltmeister Thunderbird/Bushman Bushmaster great fan, I must also admit that Hohner still have a "Hohner sound" which is ofr me THE sound of the harmonica. and since I am working on Marine Band, I am currently making for my own use a full set of Hohner Marine Band. Herings are really nice, but Hohner still have THE sound. Seydel are very strong and long life and I like the feeling they do "resist" to me that I can really get "into" the harp (if you c what I mean), but Hohner still have THE sound, and sound is what I am looking for in music.
Such as for the chromatic harmonicas. I like Hering chroms, but Hohner, though less cheap, are still one steep ahead. For the same quality and comfort, you can get Tombo chroms, but Hohner still have THE sound.
Froggy
>they look like they should sound alot better and play alot better than they
>do out of the box. For my money not worth the purchase.
