"Pat, you are a class act!"

Amen to that, brother! I've been a fan of Pat's since I say the old Pat
Ramsey Blues Band open for Johnny Winter in 1987. When I went off to college
later that year (in Tallahassee, Fla., where Pat was based at the time), I
had the great pleasure to see Pat perform a ton! My first two years in
school, I probably spent more time at Pat's gigs than I did at class! Years
later, in 1999, I met a skinny kid from Maine in a blues bar in West Palm
Beach, Fla., who said he played harp too. We chatted a bit until I mentioned
"a guy I really dig named Pat Ramsey." They skinny guy's eyes lit up, "You
know Pat too!?" We spent the rest of the night talking about blues and harp
and I ended up taking lessons from him for 2+ years. The skinny guy? Jason
Ricci. Small damn world. I even got to meet Pat finally, thanks to Jason
(back in those Tallahassee days, Pat was -- how should I put it? -- less
sociable .... plus, I was just a shy punk). Pat's a super guy and a MONSTER
harp blower and singer. I suggest you buy as many Pat Ramsey CDs as you can.
