The film and TV industry recently lost a pioneer in the make-up and
chemical industry of Hollywood, in the person of Ira Katz. Ira was also
a harmonica lover, and played chromatic from childhood. He befriended
the Dave McKelvy Trio a few years ago, and came to see us as often as
possible.
In tribute to him, I just posted a website for his family, in
appreciation of his many kindnesses toward us. Find it at:
http://www.bassharp.com/ira-katz.htm Scan down to the bottom for the
harmonica content, then if you are a fan of the many science fiction
films of Hollywood, go back and read his story from the top, written by
the leading make-up artist in the industry, Michael Westmore.
He will be truly missed not only by Hollywood, but also by his harmonica
friends in the Los Angeles area.
Danny
