Excellent question and good example, here is a refinement to Dan answer,

Try it on a blow chord on 1, 2 and 3, get a fat column of air and belly 
laugh while blowing, never stop pushing with your lungs. The belly laugh 
opens and closes a trap. While closed, the air pressure rises, when it 
opens, the accumulated pressure comes out in a rush causing a pulsing.

(Try without the harp to chop up an er sound, by belly laughing)

If you can't belly laugh, do a machine gun imitation as far back as you can 
in the throat (eh sound), its not quite the right thechnique but its around 
there.

Draw version of that sounds considerably less cool (when I do it at least).
