Darran Poole - (electric guitar)
Mark and Darran work year round performing festivals,
workshops, clubs, blues in the schools programs, and all kinds of live
music venues (check the site). Mark is known as a “Fat Tone” harp player
and delivers several styles on the diatonic and chromatic harmonica. He
knows tons of blues standards and can always deliver some great vocals.
Darran is top notch when it comes to blues guitar, and has been playing
with Bird for so long, they know were each other is heading.
This summer Peterborough (only 1.5 hr. travel from Toronto) is
the place to be outside and enjoying a lovely boat cruise along the
Trent River Canal System with a the great blues duo of Mark bird
Stafford and Darran Poole. It will be 2 X 45 minute sets of all the
great blues we know and love including: Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Slim
Harpo, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter Jacobs, Big Walter Horton and
more. Not to mention a heap of Mark’s original tunes featured on his
releases: The Birdman BM001 and Harpspace BM002 - Lily Jean Records.
This one plans to be a great evening of blues. There is a
large park to relax before and after the cruise, great restaurants
nearby, and plenty of parking.
