RE: [Harp-L] butter amp back on ebay
It's a long story, search back on the harp-l archives and you'll see it.
No need to rehash all that again, other than the fact that Butterfield's
family feel the amp was borrowed from them and never returned.
Apparently the yellow "PB" on the sides was stenciled on their recently
(notice how bright it is compared to the aged amp) and it also has been
recently altered in other ways, thus destroying any value it might have
even if your scruples and budget would allow you to think about
obtaining it (other than perhaps to return it to it's rightful owners).
The bidder right now (the only one, that happened to coincidentally
place a bid by magic that met the reserve, something one rarely does is
to start bidding on an item). Since the amp got no bites last time, I'm
assuming this one bid is a sham bid put there by the sellers to get
things going and ensure the reserve is met. Hope they know that now they
are responsible for ebay's fees since the item has or will "sell", which
are not cheap on an item of that expense.
There was a lot more info in the ad the first time they put it on ebay:

Got this from Salli and Gabe Butterfield today.
"Please start the same letter campaign to Wil C's brother who is an
absolute as$&ole. Paul's amp is back up for sale on e-bay--he is going
to get away with this because we cannot afford an attorney and the
statue of limitations requires civil litigation. Thank you," Salli &
