BTW, of interest to many, I'm sure... Richard Farrell is going out of
business. His longtime good friend, Blackie Schackner, announded it
the other day on SlideMeister. Below is the text of that message.
Also, for whatever it might mean, I note that the FandRFarrell.com
website is not coming up at all right now.

THIS IS AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL hARMONICA LOVERS EVERYWHERE, TO
ANNOUNCE THAT RICHARD FARRELL HAS GIVEN UP THE HARMONICA BUSINESS!
(F&R. Farrell)
He has been an enormous iinfluence on both the harmonica business
and the music business, and we all will miss him, and his great
discount pricing. He pioneered many of the important changes in the
harmonica game, and literally invented many of the repair tools and
the " Fixit " equipment many of us use.
He is now 85, and I guess he's just tired.... I know the feeling.
I'm gonna be 88 Sept 1st, so I sympathize. I've been a consultant
to him, so I do know the extent of his contribution(s) to the
fraternity!
Unortunately, the business that we knew and loved seems to have
gone the way of the Chromatic (as opposed to the diatonic) And many
of the pioneers are dying off...
Anyway, to Richard:
HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE!
With Love,
Blackie Schackner
