Re: [Harp-L] What's the best city these days for the blues?

It seemed too obvious. But of course The Other Wayne has a good point. It's
not just about "Chicago Blues" either. There's quite a bit of blues
derivative stuff going on here too. Blues in Chicago informs jazz, rock, funk and hip
hop on a regular and widespread basis. And if you're a blues purist you can
get enough of that in this town to choke a rino. If you're in town next week
you can catch Filisko (harp content) playing stellar pre-war/old time blues
with the incredible Eric Noden on guitar and piano. This is an outrageous city
for music, period. Blues, jazz, punk, funk, whatever. (if you're really lucky
you can even catch Rosco here from time to time -- more harp content).
