>From the "This Ain't No Tribute" CD series, I was turned on to a tune by Mavis Staples that dripped funk and soul.
 
I bought her latest Alligator Records Release - "Have a Little Faith".
 
Excellent stuff, highly recommended for those looking for something new and inspirational (musicwise, not religiouswise - remember, the idea is the music concept, not the "Jesus" or "Religious" reference).
 
It has real groove, the musicians all working together funklike. A lot of the songs are really based on blues progressions, so it is easy and fun to play along.
 
Harmonica content - last cut includes Paul Mertens on Bass Harmonica, doing that "Green Acres Arnold the Pig" type sound.
 
The Iceman
