barstools can work, but if so, i need more than one ­
unless you are excessively tidy and are willing to go for a vertical stack,
it can be a frustrating exercise to fit - let alone maintain - all your
harps, mic, beverage, etc.
on 12 inch-diameter seat.

some time ago, i figured out the folding TV tray.
not too painful to carry to the gig and quite reasonably priced.

i got lucky and found a retro-styled one that has a chrome guardrail around
3 sides,
affording my an extra bit of protection during those rowdy or slippery
events. . . .
