[Harp-L] Jason Ricci - SONNYTONE

I feel it neccesarry at this point to reiterate a few- Boutique VS.
Whatever- points I made. I tried to deliver the message that the Boutique
amp builders have heart and integrity as well as knowledge that the larger
Fenderesque companies do not but I guess perhaps I fell short.

In no way can I imagine nor would I want to, Kim Wilson or Sugar Ray
norcia ever sounding as good as they do through a sonny Jnr on My Amp! This
is to say only, there playing style and musical philosophies complent the
amp as does the amp them. If I went to see Sugar ray (which I have) and he
was blowing through my same set up instead of the Sonny Jnr I'm sure both of
us would be bummed. Imagine seeing Les Paul playing through Hendrix's
Marshall set up or vice versa!

Sonny is the most passionate amp tech and person I have met in some years
and his Sonny Jnr amp is a masterpiece of craftsman ship, fine tuning and
tonal nuance as is the Meteor and several other rigs I myself opted not to
play on permantly. In all fairness, in retrospect If I had more time and
lived closer to Sonny Jnr or Scooter (Meteor) I am absolutely positive I
would have by now found a way to make one or both of these amps work for me
in a way as good or better than my current Rig. I am a complicated guy and
like most I fear new things and loose patience with them early especially if
my current situation is not demanding a change. I thank Sonny Jnr from the
bottom of my heart and scooter as well for taking time with me and for
building amps that far exceed the market standards. The time and love they
bring to their amps is evident in every aspect of their build and
performance. Again, I just want to say some times I'd rather have Catfish
Than Caviar.

Truly sorry for any confusion I created here.I just want to be loved!

Your fan

Jason Ricci.

I have to agree with Jason, his sound was great through his reissue, I had
no
problem with going with whatever was more comfortable with him. Not everyone

will sound like him, nor will they sound like Sugar Ray Norcia who blows the

heck out my 410. Most of my owners have had reissues before mine, and all
love
my amp as people can see by the reviews. I think Fender Should take care of
Jason as he is one of the finest players busting his butt out there on the
road.
When you get used to an amp it becomes part of you, for JR it's his reissue
and his pedals, mics he uses. For others it's the Meteor, others will be
mine
or something else. I know what I build and have supporters throughout the
world, we would like to please everyone, but that's the beauty of the harp,
everyone gets something different out of it, and their amp. Just a note, the

tremendous all around tone man, Mitch Kashmar, is also a Sonny Jr endorser
now, he
will be on board with his next CD, the one after this one he is coming out
with.
Go hear him, based out of Santa Barbara. King of the upper register tongue
block blow bends, along with everything else.
