There's no practical reason for doing this.  I've heard otherwise
extremely competent individuals play a discreet comb harmonica only
to make it sound like a dying cat without trying to play a chromatic
scale on two holes.

regular bends and overblow are tough enough to play with good
intonation.  Those really extended bends on a discrete comb harp
sound like the poor man's shenai or a dying cat.
