[Harp-L] re: favorite albums of 2004

I acquired these albums in 2004. I have no idea when they were released.

The Power of Soul a tribute to Hendrix. No harp on it anywhere. Plenty of
inspirtation. You think harp has a bad reputation? Try pedal steel. Listen to
Robert Randolph and the Family Band. That's something to aspire to. Hearing
Carlos Santana, Stanley Clark, Larry Graham, Bootsy and the P Funk All Stars,
Chaka Khan etc will definitely inspire you to practice. Pick up your harp and
try to play along. Stevie Ray Vaughn's playing is extrodinary. Little Wing
works on the chromatic with the button pushed in.

The Best of Lightnin' Hopkins. People on the list talk about rhythm. Lighnin had
a marvelous sense of time. Again, plenty to play along with.

Speaking of groove, listen to George Clinton's Greatest Hits. If you want to
know how to get a crowd up dancing, listen to this CD. Learn the chorus to "Do
Fries Come with That Shake?" and then play it at your next blues jam.
