I attended a Linux Summit last week in San Diego and
the most impressive talk was Michael Robertson, the
CEO of Linspire and the former founder of mp3.com
talking about and "purchasing" an album from his new
website. On stage he then loaded the album onto a
Beamer (a small dedicated computer storing albums and
for copying CD's to its HD) and played from this Linux
box. He also used a Mac laptop and a Windows XP
computer to play the same song. Then a IPod and then
a wireless radio and last a wireless pda-phone. The
cool thing was he has set it up to be your song once
it is sold and you then can download it to numerous
devices at different times.
Well he was a better showman than I am a writer.
Below is a link to an article about the show, which
had a lot I liked but told myself I needed to share
this for those of you looking for a good place to sell
some music online. Having never done that I can't say
how good it (DOLLARS) is but they are connected to
cdbaby.com. The relavant links are below.
