On ebay I've seen old Marine Bands from the 70s sell for $25, and
once bought a pre-WWII Marine Band in Eb (!) for $12. Value and
price are two different things.

I rememeber browsing around ebay one time and seeing a Clarke
pennywhistle for only $15. I thought, "Wow, what a great price!" A
pennywhistle for $15 plus shipping, PayPal fees, totaling about
$25. Fortunately, I didn't jump right on and buy it, I went out and
searched around for pennywhistle vendors online and found
http://www.whistleshop.com/ which sells the same Clarke pennywhistle
for $9.95. The lesson for me was not to make assumptions about the
price of things.
