I use a 7.62x39 bullet (SKS rifle). This allows doing the sides individually. This is a surplus military round, not a hunting bullet. It has a very hard,slick surface, not soft lead. 
Be careful though, I removed the powder from mine first. Ya wouldn't want to blow out your harp before you even got it back together.....
