There's a lot of possibilities but a cap job just might do the trick. 
Amplifiers are pretty hard to diagnose
with description's of problems. One problem may have 5 or 6 possible causes. 
If you try the filter cap's
first you might just fix the problem with no further work needed. Make sure 
to change ALL of the electrolytic
cap's in the amp.
