O.K., Chris M. and you other younger harp
players dissing Buttterfield do you think you can
match his influence on blues harp playing ? I doubt it
. Or Sonny Terry ? Both were phenomenal
players with great soul and feeling and technique and
affect me like making love whereas your
beloved Jon Popper affects me like washing dishes.
Check out Butterfield live @ The Troubadour
where he had the balls to take a slow blues break it
down to solo harp and he gets applause 5 times in his
totally improvised solo. Sorry, but Mr. Butterfield
earned his reputation and has influenced thousands of
harpers (me definitely included). So who's next ?
Litttle Walter ? It's so
easy to criticize but so hard to do.
